• Playful Rhymes with Meaning: Ramadan Rhymes for Little Hearts isn’t just a fun read— it’s a tool to teach kids about the true meaning of Ramadan including dua, prayer, thoughtfulness, charity, community and many other Islamic values. Through rhymes, it brings to life very powerful intentions and duas including for example, “La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah“, which translates to “there is no power nor strength except with Allah.” How true and how powerful if we can engrain this reflection in our little ones from a tender age.
  
  
• Signs Are All Around Us: Ramadan Rhymes for Little Hearts is also a tool to emphasis what we know is true – Allah’s signs are all around us. Signs including our shadows which prostrate – to the animals, birds and elements in nature that submit to Allah (swt). This is one of the most beautiful aspects that is emphasized within the Quran that has touched my life. It’s also my favorite spread in the book!
  
  
• Building Good Character: Ramadan is the perfect time to nurture values like kindness, patience, and gratitude. This book helps kids understand these lessons in a way that’s easy to remember and carry with them all year long.
  
  
• Many Families, One Faith: I wanted this book to show the beauty of diversity within the Muslim community. Whether you’re Black or African descent, Asian, Middle Eastern, European descent or from anywhere else, we are many families, one faith.
